Performance Choir is a 50-voice choir consisting of students in middle and high school. As the Children's Choir Program flagship ensemble, this nationally recognized choir represents the culmination of musical learning and performance in the CCP. This season they will travel to Boston to sing in the Plymouth 400 Choral Festival, celebrating the Mayflower voyage and founding of the Plymouth colony. In Spring 2019, the Choir sang at the National Conference of the Organization of American Kodaly Educators. In the 2017-2018 season, the choir traveled to New York City to sing in the National Youth Choir at Carnegie Hall, where they were selected to perform their own set of songs as the Featured Choir. In 2017, the choir was selected to perform at the Kennedy Center as part of the Washington D.C. Memorial Day Choral Festival. The choir performed for the Ohio Choral Directors Association 2017 annual conference. Symphonic appearances include Carmina Burana with the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and Midsummer Night’s Dream and Elijah with the Akron Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, this choir performs at various community events throughout the greater Akron community each season as well as Summit Choral Society presented concerts.
