By sharing our extensive music library (over 37 years of service) with local schools, nonprofits and community organizations, we help to reduce financial barriers, encourage collaboration and inspire more people through the joy of singing.

How to Use the Community Lending Library
Browse the Catalog
Search by title, composer, arranger and/or voicing
Submit a Request
Complete the online request form with title(s) and performance dates
Availability Confirmation
Summit Choral Society will verify inventory, confirm the number of available copies and email the loan agreement
Complete the Loan Agreement
Sign the agreement, provide payment information (refundable deposit where applicable and/or replacement guarantee) and return the form
Receive the Music
Music may be picked up, shipped or delivered electronically, as applicable
Return the Music
Return physical music by the due date or ensure digital files are deleted at the end of the loan period

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many copies can I borrow? All available copies in the SCS inventory.
2. Can I renew? Yes, please contact SCS in writing for an extension.
3. What if I need more copies? Additional copies must be secured at your own expense, independently.
4. Can I photocopy? No.
5. Can I borrow for a concert outside Ohio? Music may be performed outside of Ohio, however, eligible borrowers must reside in NE Ohio.
6. Can individuals borrow? No, only registered non-profits, schools, churches or like community arts organizations.
7. Can churches borrow? Yes.
8. What if music is lost? Lost music will be invoiced to the borrower at current market replacement rates.
9. Can I reserve music months in advance? Yes, this is encouraged.
10. How long does approval take? Up to 10 business days.
11. Can I perform the music multiple times? SCS does not grant performance rights.
12. What happens if another choir already has the title checked out? The title will become available upon it’s return/end of loan period with the previous borrower.

Standard loan period: Six months
Renewals may be available if the music has not been requested by another organization.
Requests for longer loans will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Digital copies: expire automatically at conclusion of loan period,cannot be printed multiple times, may not be retained after loan period end and digital borrowers agree to permanently delete all files at the end of the loan period.
Physical sheet music must be returned to Summit Choral Society at the end of the loan period.
Late fees/replacement costs may apply.
Copyright
Summit Choral Society is committed to respecting copyright law.
Borrowed music may only be used by the borrowing organization during the approved loan period.
Photocopying, distributing or reproducing music is strictly prohibited.
Borrowers agree to comply with all applicable copyright laws.
Availability of some titles may be restricted by publisher licensing or copyright requirements.
Borrowers are responsible for
lost or damaged music, excessive markings and/or missing copies.
use light pencil markings only. erase markings before returning music.
Absolutely no ink. Absolutely no highlighter.
replacement octavo(s), instrumental parts, scores, etc. will be assessed at their current market rate with shipping costs, if applicable.
Summit Choral Society does not guarantee and does not grant
performance rights, livestream rights, recording rights, synchronization rights.
Borrowers are responsible for securing any required performance, streaming, recording or licensing permissions.

Late returns may be subjected to late fees in the amount of $10 per copy, per day.
