Children & Youth Choir Interview/Auditions

Current Interview / Auditions Date - Friday, September 10, 2010

We are currently enrolling children and youth in 2nd through 10th grade for our September 2010 through May 2011 session.  There are two major performances with all singers each year -- in December and May -- at Cuyahoga Falls High School Auditorium.

Our music education and performance program emphasizes individual understanding and development of musical skills.  It is one of Northeast Ohio's premier choral arts organizations!  New singers are placed into one of six class levels based on their own musical skill level.  Singers then progress at their own ability. We hold interview/auditions in January, May and September.

There will be an Orientation for ALL singers on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Coventry High School.  Regular classes/rehearsals begin Monday, August 30, 2010.*

*If you have scheduled your interview/audition appointment for Friday, September 10th prior to the above dates, you are welcome and encouraged to come to the Orientation on Monday, August 23rd.  If you schedule your interview/audition appointment for Friday, September 10th after August 23rd, you will receive the information from the Orientation at your interview/audition appointment.

CURRENT INTERVIEW / AUDITIONS

Current Interview/Auditions Date:  Friday, September 10, 2010

Audition Times: 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (appointments are scheduled to begin every 30 minutes; last appointments scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.)

Appointments: Approximately 1 hour (total duration)

Location: Steinway Hall, 715 E. Buchtel Ave, Akron 44305, near Summa Akron City Hospital and The University of Akron (auditions are at our offices)    Directions

About the Placement Interview/Audition Session: Singers will be accompanied by piano and will perform simple musical exercises with our music teachers to determine their current skill level.  Singers should prepare a favorite short song to sing (even something as simple as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star").
