Our 20th season opened with this grand concert featuring full orchestra and over 250 voices from the Masterworks Chorale, Touring Choir and Summit Children's Choirs. Guest performers include soloists Norris Kelly, tenor, and Jocelyn Grant, soprano, plus the Akron Derbytown Barbershoppers. The music is highlighted by the world premieres of newly commissioned work by New England composer Dorn Younger entitled Lincoln: A Symphonic Tribute and Hal Walker's Father Abraham. The program also features classic works, including Julia Ward Howe's text for the Battle Hymn of the Republic and Irving Berlin's God Bless America -- a magnificent celebration of Lincoln's 200th birthday.

Sounds of Spring 2010
The annual SCS Spring concert in 2010 featured selections from each of the Children's Choir Program groups, from Training Level 1 up to the Touring Choir. The concert was concluded by a combined performance of Steven Rickards' The Power of Song directed by Dr. Frank C. Jacobs.
