Kodaly method of attaining musical literacy in our Preparatory Division (non-audition), Training Division (audition) and Ensemble Division (audition).
Our Preparatory Division offers a non-audition, Beginning Singing Program for young singers who would like to experience a choral arts program and begin to develop their singing skills. This non-audition vocal arts education program is for singers in the 2nd through 3rd grade and is ideal for beginners. We offer two 15-week sessions each year at multiple convenient campus locations on Monday evenings including:
West Akron Campus: Located at Resnik CLC/School (6:00 - 7:00 pm)
Ellet Campus: Located at Ritzman CLC/School in Ellet (4:15 - 5:15 pm)
Our Fall Session runs from late-August through December and our Spring Session runs from early-February through mid-May. Each session culminates with an on-stage concert performance with their class level and with over 200 singers from our concurrently running audition-based Training and Ensemble Divisions located at Coventry High School (see photo above including our West Akron Campus singers).
Singers in the Preparatory Division can audition at the end of each session (fall and spring) if they would like to join the Training Division located at our main campus at Coventry High School. Or, singers may continue in our satellite campus locations and attend the various classes we offer in the Preparatory Division.
Tuition is $195 per session with a $20 discount for early registration.

Through the generosity of the Ohio Arts Council and the Mary S. and David C. Corbin Foundation, scholarships are available in our Preparatory Division for 2nd and 3rd singers. These full scholarships are awarded annually through Akron area music teachers who select 2nd and 3rd graders who demonstrate a strong interest and talent in singing - ask your Akron area school music teacher about our scholarship program!
